General Membership Meeting

JULY 19TH 2014

 

The meeting at the Garden Park Hospital was opened at 8.05am by AE5RI, Terry Hull, President.

The Pledge of Allegiance was observed and prayer given by Ed Byrd, KA5VFU.  WD5BJT, Charlie was absent due to illness and a motion made by George, K5JZ and seconded by KA5VFU that the reading of the last month’s minutes be suspended was approved.  Ray, WQ5L gave the financial report and motion to accept by K5JZ, seconded by Cecil, K5DL was approved.  A motion by Chris, K5MOZ, seconded by K5JZ to hold the August meeting at the Huntsville Hamfest was approved.  Old business:

Terry, AE5RI thanked all concerned with the Field Day operation for the help and participation, especially Terry, N5TF and Ed, KA5VFU. Ray, WQ5L reported that the club made 2753 QSOs for a total of 9542 points, including bonus points.  A general discussion regarding this and next years Field Day ensued and special mention of the outstanding food was made. The generator has been refueled and serviced.   Newbusiness:

Mike, WM5DX proposed a fall picnic along the lines of the spring Polish picnic to be held to co-incide with the Oceania phone DX contest on Saturday 4th October. More details later.   Tromelin Dxpedition: Motion by Chris, K5MOZ, seconded by Terry, N5TF, that the Board to decide on the amount of donation, in compliance with club rules, was accepted.   Donations to Narau and Lord Howe to be from any funds over and above $25 to club funds from the monthly donations bucket.   Terry N5TF made mention of equipment insurance available from Coast Electric Co. and ARRL.   Motion made by KA5VFU, seconded by K5DL, to adjourn the meeting accepted, meeting closed at 8.52 am.
